LEARNTEC Convention 2027: Call for Papers set to open

Proposals for topics relating to digital education can be submitted from June 9 to July 5, 2026

As one of Europe’s leading specialist forums for digital education in schools, universities and business, the LEARNTEC Convention in Karlsruhe - now in its 34th year - will once again be providing a platform for experts from around the world. The Call for Papers for the upcoming convention opens on 9 June, 2026 - earlier than in previous years due to the new event dates of February 2-4, 2027 - and closes on July 5. Proposals for topics can be submitted ONLINE.

The range of topics extends from Artificial Intelligence and its legally compliant and strategic application in a learning context, through to the latest research findings on efficient learning in a digital environment, and new learning technologies. Sünne Eichler, from the LEARNTEC Convention Committee, explains: “The future lies in the meaningful connection between people and technology. In 2027, the focus will be on AI in a learning context, modern learning technologies and standards. At the same time, the emphasis will be on sustainable learning programmes with a tangible impact, flexible and personalised learning pathways, strategically embedded learning through relevant ecosystems, as well as modern learning design and a future-proof culture.”

In addition to submissions on digital education in a corporate context, topic proposals for university@LEARNTEC and school@LEARNTEC are also welcome. Submissions will be reviewed by a 21-strong panel of experts from the fields of educational science and the education sector. Criteria include content quality, relevance, innovative strength and feasibility. Interested parties may also submit topic proposals in multiple categories.

New programme committee ready for action

For 2027, a broad-based programme committee will complement the convention committee for the first time. Both committees will curate the content of the convention and exhibition programme, ensuring that it reflects diverse developments in the sector and anticipates the latest trends. Members include e-learning expert Sünne Eichler, computer scientist Prof. Dr Matthias Wölfel, Prof. Dr Anja Schmitz, Professor of Human Resource Management at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Canada-based e-learning expert Bianca Baumann for the English-language programme, headteacher Micha Pallesche, computer scientist Prof. Dr Peter A. Henning, extended reality expert Torsten Fell, and Christian Steiner for the AI thematic area.

Full details of the criteria for the Call for Papers and required submission documents are available on the LEARNTEC website.
