Final report LEARNTEC 2008

Karlsruhe, 31 January 2008. In the last three days approximately 6.000 trade visitors to LEARNTEC have experienced how learning could look in the future.

60 of the 220 exhibitors had come to Karlsruhe for the first time. They presented totally new product categories and topics from sectors such as Serious Games including ‘brain jogging’ and mobile language and mathematics trainers.

LEARNTEC answered forward-looking questions in a convention and trade fair with high-level speakers from politics, commerce, and science discussing current topics of the knowledge economy. Great interest was shown, for example, in all aspects relating to the development of search engines in the Internet. At the convention, education experts presented integrated solution concepts and applications for new learning scenarios in businesses, institutes of higher education, and training.

The 16th LEARNTEC, too, presented itself as the leading trade fair for learning and knowledge management in German-speaking Europe. LEARNTEC is the only place where suppliers encounter such highly-qualified visitors. ‘We had promising talks. Our expectations were fulfilled completely’, reports Bettina Dauphin from the Austrian company Dynamic Media. She adds: ‘We’ve taken part for 6 years and are now looking forward to setting up our stand as exhibitors at LEARNTEC 2009.’

Over 70 per cent of the trade visitors to LEARNTEC said they would like to come back to Karlsruhe in 2009. Roughly 75 per cent of the interviewed visitors said LEARNTEC had given them suggestions relating to their professional activities. In total, more than 60 per cent of the trade visitors were decision-makers in companies and institutes of higher education.

The next LEARNTEC takes place from 3 to 5 February 2009 at Messe Karlsruhe.
